Barney arrived in Texas in 2002. We purchased the car from John sight unseen and have never regretted it. In fact, Barney is a favorite. He has approximately 35,000 original miles. We had his entire suspension rebuilt and converted the original carburetor to a Weber 4-Barrel on an Edelrock Hi-rise manifold. Barney received a new power steering rack and his original transmission was removed from the car and refurbished. We installed a short-throw shifter from Woody at the Wedge Shop (a real improvement and Bilstein shocks. All mechanical work was done by International Motor Cars in Dallas Texas including the construction to our design of a new air box system. Barney was also the recipient of a beautiful tan leather interior from Rimmers which was professionally installed by Hatfield Restorations in Canton, Texas. He was professionally prepped painted by JKL of Texas with a 2-Pac black paint that really shows his lines off. Barney has that “wow” factor that is somehow indescribable, yet very evident. Driving Barney is great fun and gives the driver a much different experience from driving the DHC’s (convertibles). |
